The owner, is a phenomenal businesswoman who truly understands great food and hospitality. She greeted me with a warm smile, and my order was already prepared and ready to go. The shop is impeccably clean, and whether you’re dining in or taking out, it has that classic sandwich shop charm that feels both nostalgic and inviting. Now, let’s talk about these fries. For just $5.50, you get a generous portion—perfect as a satisfying snack on its own or as a shareable side. If you’re grabbing a few sandwiches (which I highly recommend), one order of fries is more than enough to round out the meal for everyone. As I walked home, I could already smell them through the bag, hot and fresh. The packaging was thoughtfully done, making it easy to carry, and they even included plenty of napkins and ketchup. When I opened the bag, I was met with perfectly golden, fresh-cut fries—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. Each bite had just the right balance of salt and flavor, making them impossible to put down. They’re the kind of fries that remind you what fresh-cut fries should taste like. We ordered through Grub Hub. OMG the food was delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly. I had the egg salad sandwich and hubby had the fish sandwich plus we got fries. Definitely will be ordering from there again. Best food that we've ordered out in a long time!

During a quick detour on our way to Philadelphia, my family and I were blessed to find Ida’s Sandwich Shop on Perrysville Ave. From the get-go, this place felt like a hidden treasure in Pittsburgh. The menu was bursting with pre-made wonders. The kids devoured the French toast, which was so flavorful it didn’t even ... need syrup! My wife and I have a special place in my heart for their breakfast potatoes and that one-of-a-kind artisanal dry wheat toast. The scrambled eggs? Delightfully fluffy and savory. Being on a low-sodium plan, I was initially unsure about the menu, but Ida herself came to help. A heads-up for those watching their salt: the Halal chicken, like many Halal meats, can be a tad salty. But Ida was phenomenal in assisting us, guiding us through the options and ensuring we were happy with our choices. Cleanliness at Ida’s Sandwich Shop is top-notch, from the dining area to the restrooms. Speaking of which, they even have wipes in the men’s bathroom! This is one of my go-to places for great food and great people! I love their big breakfast sandwiches in particular :) They’re also so kind. When I’ve ordered food to go they went out of their way to make sure my food was hot & fresh when I picked it up by timing the cooking. Highly recommend!
